Eye on the Prize

Wildlife is one of my favorite subjects to paint, especially when I have the opportunity to get very close to the animal I am painting.  I took a wildlife photo tour last fall and was able to capture stunning reference photos of this beautiful cat.  I used  my references to paint this mountain lion in action.   He was intently locked into the prize he was after.  Along with the joy of  being close to the animal, it was fun to explore the complimentary colors between the animal and my background I chose.
